Electric batteries are connected in parallel when all the terminals of the same sign are connected together. A cable leaves from this common point and supplies a current to the circuit.

A group of batteries in parallel produces the same voltage as one battery. The four 1.5 V batteries in the picture on the left produce a 1.5 V voltage.
The advantage of this arrangement is that the voltage is maintained stable for a longer time than with only one battery.
The resistance of the batteries in the circuit is also smaller than in the arrangement with only one battery.
